Gatorade for the Soul

This is why I love good Southern Gospel quartet singing. They have a way of singing about heaven that can lift me out of the darkest day and fix my eyes on home. Enjoy.

Would this Southern Gospel stuff be considered "theology lite?" SLD

A lot of it, yes. Kinda like a song that appears on a certain radio network you & I know that refers to "when you feel a little prayer-wheel turning". :-)

That's why I specified GOOD Southern Gospel. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the occasional Krispy Kreme, but so many churches are committed to feeding their people a steady diet of 'em--after all, it's all about keeping the people coming back, isn't it?

Not a persoanl attack. I've noticed there seems to be a disdain for what is considered "light theology" by some in "The Society." But there seems to be plenty of latitude for them to be silly and frivilous in the Blogsphere. I genuinely appreciate Biblical Theoogy and the communication of such but with a meek spirit. (A meek spirit and a timid delivery are no necessarily the same). I detect often a spirit of condescension for those who are not "elected or thoroughly puritanized." It seems to smack of the other end of the pendelum swing from the "fundamentalism intolerence." I would not like to see you skid off into the ditch on the other side of the road. Keep up the good work. Shoot me an email. SLD

Incidentally, the quartet song was excelloent. They are one of the better groups out there that seem to have a genuine heart for ministry rather than da money. SLD
